Joséline was born on 23 October in the Kanyaruchinya camp for displaced persons. In the photo, a young man called Jean-Luc Maroy is holding Joséline in his arms. Jean-Luc asked our NGO REGENERATION MATRIX for help in buying tarpaulins or raising funds to buy tarpaulins.
Joséline’s mum made her some clothes out of old tarpaulins. They had to leave their homes 8 days, 6 months or 3 years ago. These are makeshift camps. They have all become homeless. Not homeless like us, homeless because the water washed away their house or because armed groups destroyed their village or because they were hunted down to kill them in order to steal their land. Everyone has their own story. And it’s never funny. It’s always tragic.
It’s happening in the DRC in almost all the autonomous refugee camps that are not being looked after by the major international organisations. Why? Because there are too many of them. Because there are too many of them. So there’s no medical care, no protection, but above all when all you have to build your house is what’s lying around. That house is fragile and when it starts raining, as it does every year at Christmas, there’s no dry place to live. All this creates sick mothers and children.
Our NGO REGENERATION MATRIX and its ANGELS network in the DRC are joining forces with Luc to distribute tarpaulins to those in need in North and South Kivu.
Donate even small amounts, they will always be useful because a large tarpaulin can cover a makeshift hut and a small tarpaulin can provide clothes for children and babies.
Thank you for reading our message to the end.
